IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	21	for food-insecure families in Durham. We found a gardener manager with
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	22	farming experience who helped organize the garden work for each
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	23	season, and the gardening work involved 7-8 volunteers and two student
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	24	service-learning interns from UNC-Chapel Hill. Our donations the
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	25	first year went to Fed Up, a non-profit that organized drivers to
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	26	deliver food. In the 2nd year we donated to Freedom House (a
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	27	halfway house) and to the Elizabeth St Methodist Church's biweekly
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	28	food drives for poor families. The community garden project ended
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	29	in September 2022.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	30	Our newest project is the CommunEcos Foundation, which awards small
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	31	grants of $1500-3000 for environmental education projects that align
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	32	with our mission and goals. Our board members serve as reviewers of
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	33	grant applications. In 2022, we awarded grants to Don't Waste Durham
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt	34	and to two past recipients of our Steve Wing Prize for activism.
