“Aquability therapeutic aquatic programs are available to people of all ages who are challenged by a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to: paralysis, stroke, parkinson's disease, visual or auditory impairment, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, amputation, spinal cord injury, brain injury, down syndrome, spina bifida, autism, and developmental disabilities. The water environment provides a neutral gravity training environment. Exercise in the aquatic environment allows muscle performance unattainable on land due to decreased muscle control, strength, balance, coordination, and sensory issues of participants. Aquability recognizes the vital importance and benefits for their participants associated with regular training and exercise and served 120 individuals in its year-round program.”
