During the year the financial information is reviewed by an independent certified public accountant and various reporting requirements are addressed and detail accounting transactions reviewed. Just after the taxable year end, the financial information is provided to the independent certified public accountant for review and preparation of the form 990. Once this process is complete, the first draft of the form 990 is reviewed by the organization's president and board of directors. Upon their approval, the form 990 is signed by the appropriate nonprofit official and the return is filed.
