Peru maternal-fetal health training - during a week in march 2016, eight (8) reach out and learn inc (rol) volunteers who are expert maternal-fetal health professionals in the u.s., along with twenty six (26) other humanitarian volunteers, traveled to peru to provide free training for more than 100 of their peruvian colleagues in cusco, quillabamba and juliaca, peru, on issues that affect the mortality of women during pregnancy, childbirth and recovery, and to newborns during and after childbirth. Rol volunteers also provided 200 delivery kits and 150 newborn kits to support the efforts of peruvian maternal-fetal health professionals as they help those in need. Training workshops included topics on neonatal resuscitation and care, postpartum hemorrhage, maternal birth trauma repair, and delivery assistance. Donated time was in excess of 2720 hours.”
“Part iii, line 29. China mental health training - in 2016 nine (9) rol volunteers, who are mental health professionals, trained more than 200 chinese mental health students, faculty and professionals, during a week in october in jinan, china. Rol volunteers also collected data through surveys that provided a glimpse of the current state of mental health care in china. This information will be used to direct our efforts to reach out and train chinese mental health professionals and provide skills for them as they help those with mental health challenges. Our volunteers provided training on positive psychology, overcoming addiction, brain training using neurofeedback, the influence of emotion and mood on life potential, experiential psychology, and behavioral analysis. Volunteer time provided was in excess of 960 hours.”
