“Leadership & management successes trizah waiyaki, operations & development director, started work with freely in hope in february, worked with the development director to strengthen policies, structures, systems, and procedures in operations, revised and updated the employee manual, financial policy, and honor code, hired sarafna, a malkia graduate, as the peer educator for malkia, promoted lydia matioli as the program manager after hiring a leadership coach for her to excel in this role, lydia matioli visited new york to speak at the uns csw conference re-trained staff in mission, vision, values, policies that guide freely in hope hired phoeby musonda as the program manager for super girls revolution in zambia, held cross-training with trizah and phoeby to contextualize freely in hopes work in zambia, led strategic planning process for 2020-2022 programs in kenya and zambia, led staff retreat to facilitate an environment of rest, renewal, and refection, planning & developing community initiatives successes connected teams across countries to learn from each other and re-enforce the culture of fih. Kenya malkia:provides a safe space for women in prostitution to be equipped, educated, and strengthened as role models that restore hope to their work places. 13 women in sinai, ages 16-26. Redesigned malkia program to re-launch in 2020, hired sarafna, malkia alumni, as peer educator, brought in 2 malkia alumni into the arise scholarship program eneza:sexual violence prevention program for high school students in kibera. Hired fih fellow to lead eneza, trained 10 fih survivor-leaders to implement eneza, distributed 2,000 resource cards with reporting contacts. Advocates workshops: a learning community for practitioners working to build a better world. Transitioned leadership to trizah waiyaki, reached 45 people through 3 advocates workshops, earned 240 in local revenue. Zambia registered freely in hope in zambia, partnered with mnk counseling & wellness centre, women in law in southern africa, ywca, university teaching hospital, kukhoma project, women in law and development in africa. International day of the girl conference: celebrated international day of the girl for the frst time in zambia. 62 girls from mtundere township attended, partnered with 8 organizations that provided 591 worth of in-kind donations girls revolution: establishing a safe place that equips girls to shine their light in the world through a relationship with god, high moral standards, and sexual health. Ages 12-25. 1 survivor of rape pursued advocacy in the justice system, 4 survivors of rape received counseling and specialized support, 21 sgr meetings held in 6 months, grew sgr meetings from 7 girls to over 65 girls in consistent attendance. Coached staff in dealing with sensitive topics and issues and to provide relevant support according to the honor code”
