“The mission of the nhla is to (1) develop and provide a better understanding of hispanics in the landscape industry, (2) draw hispanics in greater numbers into the broader community of landscape industry leaders, (3) facilitate greater professionalism and transferrable business success among hispanics in the landscape industry, and (4) to provide hispanics in the landscape industry an effective voice in advocating for industry interests.”

Professionalism and success have also been fostered through member-to- member interaction coordinated through the nhla. The nhla has help members advance industry interests by facilitating their engagement with their elected officials and other policy leaders, and has helped bring industry positions and important points of interest to other hispanic-serving national organizations. Prior to nhla outreach, leaders in many of these organizations had given little thought to the landscape industry and its importance to us hispanics. Member organizations receive equipment discounts and other benefits. They are also eligible for discounted rates when registering to attend nhla educational programs. Ours is truly an active collaboration of landscape industry leaders and those that share their concerns. Each member organization brings its unique perspectives and leverages their core competencies and resources on the nhla initiatives of greatest interest to them. Members have found that nhla membership provides a unique forum for purposeful networking, and the result has been the fostering of a greater degree of understanding, trust, and collegiality that has proven beneficial.”
