The Orbis Cascade Alliance enables member libraries to advance institutional missions through collaboration and innovation.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Strategic agenda:orbis cascade alliance explores new directions that further the mission of the consortium; collectively called the strategic agenda, formally adopted by council through periodic strategic planning efforts.current strategic agenda: cooperative collection development: while member institutions continue to acquire their own material, the alliance is committed to cooperative collection development to leverage member institutions' resources to better serve our users.future of integrated library systems: as an alliance, our council voted to proceed with procurement of a shared library management system with the intent to migrate all members to a new system.collaborative technical services: the alliance has identified shared staff as a key area for collaboration technical services as a promising area of initial investigation.
Activity 3
Courier program:program purpose is to exchange physical library materials between institutions; the alliance oversees the program, acts as fiscal agent, monitors and ensures contract compliance.
