“Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery by supporting the deployment of interoperable health technology, facilitating the exchange of health information among care providers, both within the enterprise and across care settings, and enabling local, regional and nationwide health information networks in the united states, all in a manner consistent with participation with the activities of ihe international, inc. Ihe usa convenes the largest interoperability testing event globally, and partners with federal and state agencies to conduct testing, provide awareness, and offer training. This partnership includes "in kind" contribution of staff and resources to support these agencies attendance . It vendors participate in order to test their products' interoperability capabilities with fellow vendors. Ihe usa plans all logistics, produces the event, collects information and disseminates the results to interested parties, and help to validate safe, reliable, and compliant ehr software configurations to comply with numerous elements of the us hhs onc and cms meaningful use requirements embedded in hitech and ppaca. Further, this effort trains participants how to comply and test conformance with patient health data privacy requirements under hipaa and hitech.”
