“The dragonfly foundation supports families of pediatric cancer patients by: building a network that connects dragonfly families to each other and the community providing programs to enhance quality of life enhancing programs in partner children's hospitals partnering on psychosocial research with cincinnati children's hospital medical center”
“In-kind donations and sponsor support: dragonfly provides numerous in-kind donations to patients and families in the form of time, talents, events and other resources to accomplish our mission both within and outside the hospital. As a part of this, hundreds of volunteers support numerous activities and events that provide care, community connections and, more generally, emotional health. Annually, dragonfly also creates specific events for families to connect and to become part of the dragonfly family. Due to covid, this year may events were impacted and smaller events for indivdual families were implemented. Unused donated event tickets are an important component to families to assist with providing support in other ways. All of the these areas are an important part of supplementing the medical care being administered and are necessary to achieve the dragonfly mission daily.”
“Emotional health, awareness and other support programs: the dragonfly foundation also delivers it's mission through other support programs including: a) the "landing", an 11,000 sq. Ft. Facility provides a space for patients and families to connect with one another ("every dragonfly needs a place to land"); a community center for families. B) dragonfly provides patient and family events that allow families to connect with one another c) "i'm still me" hair loss package and public awareness programs d) "beads of courage" program e) 40 page tips booklet providing patient care and practical advice f) adopt a family program g) urgent needs program h) technology programs helping patients remain connected with the outside world during treatment.”
“The dragonfly foundation provides distractions from the emotional, physical and financial toll of cancer and blood diseases. We believe emotional strength is a critical element to a successful outcome along with the medical treatment being administered. As part of this, we work to establish connections at a time when patients, siblings and caregivers feel the most alone and isolated. Through our efforts, almost 6,000 dragonfiles have been distracted from the physical and emotional pain of treatment as well as the post-traumatic stress associated with the diagnosis of a life- threatening illness. Our services fall into three main areas as reflected in "part iii statement of service accomplishments".”

ALL OF THE THESE AREAS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF SUPPLEMENTING THE MEDICAL CARE BEING ADMINISTERED AND ARE NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE THE DRAGONFLY MISSION DAILY. |
| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc | 0 | EMOTIONAL HEALTH, AWARENESS AND OTHER SUPPORT PROGRAMS: THE DRAGONFLY FOUNDATION ALSO DELIVERS IT'S MISSION THROUGH OTHER SUPPORT PROGRAMS INCLUDING: A) THE "LANDING", AN 11,000 SQ. FT. FACILITY PROVIDES A SPACE FOR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES TO CONNECT WITH ONE ANOTHER ("EVERY DRAGONFLY NEEDS A PLACE TO LAND"); A COMMUNITY CENTER FOR FAMILIES. B) DRAGONFLY PROVIDES PATIENT AND FAMILY EVENTS THAT ALLOW FAMILIES TO CONNECT WITH ONE ANOTHER C) "I'M STILL ME" HAIR LOSS PACKAGE AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS D) "BEADS OF COURAGE" PROGRAM E) 40 PAGE TIPS BOOKLET PROVIDING PATIENT CARE AND PRACTICAL ADVICE F) ADOPT A FAMILY PROGRAM G) URGENT NEEDS PROGRAM H) TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS HELPING PATIENTS REMAIN CONNECTED WITH THE OUTSIDE WORLD DURING TREATMENT. |
| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc | 0 | THE DRAGONFLY FOUNDATION PROVIDES DISTRACTIONS FROM THE EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL AND FINANCIAL TOLL OF CANCER AND BLOOD DISEASES. OUR SERVICES FALL INTO THREE MAIN AREAS AS REFLECTED IN "PART III STATEMENT OF SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS". |
