Farmers market - crossroads downtown partnership (cdp) manages the morristown farmers market for the city. We recruit farmers and other vendors, advertise the market via print and social media, set the rules and guidelines in accordance with state and local requirements with the farmers' participation, provide the sanitation equipment, conduct consumer and farmer education, inspect the vendors' farms, assist the vendors with participation in the senior nutrition program, and, with the city, held the public participation meeting that set the stage for the new pavilion construction that is currently underway. Cdp has written several grants that support the market and its objectives. These grants include the tn dept. Of agriculture promotion grant that provides support for the annual farmers market meeting attendance and for market promotion, and another tn dept. Of agriculture grant for 100,00 that was awarded to the city for part of the cost of pavilion construction. Additionally, we developed and were awarded a farmers market sustainability program that is funded over two fiscal year periods - 2014 and 2015. This program is funded by two sources: 1. A tn dept. Of economic and community development three star grant that was a pass through grant via the morristown area chamber of commerce and 2. A grant awarded by alcoa foundation that initially was initially a pass through via the morristown chamber foundation that was subsequently directly granted to cdp upon award of our 501 c 3 nonprofit status.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29
