To organize and empower low to moderate income marylanders to achieve transformative change on issues of justice. Our grassroots organizing model prioritizes engagement and leadership development of those most impacted by poverty, racism, trauma and other injustice.

OUR SATELLITE LOCATION IN RENAISSANCE ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL ENGAGES, EMPOWERS AND SUPPORTS STUDENTS. WE EXPANDED OUR TRAUMA-INFORMED SUPPORT GROUPS TO FOUR NEW NEIGHBORHOODS AND ORGANIZED MONTHLY WALK- THE KIDS TO SCHOOL TO ENGAGE PARENTS IN TWO OF THESE NEIGHBORHOODS. CU ALSO CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AS AN ESSENTIAL STRATEGY TO PROVIDE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS TO YOUTH LIVING IN CONCENTRATED POVERTY AND COPING WITH TRAUMA. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: CU RECRUITED AND ORGANIZED LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS AROUND ISSUES DESCRIBED ABOVE AND MORE.
