“Global Renewal exists to 1 train nationals to become leaders who through word and deed transform and impact societies, and 2 to rescue the helpless and provide an environment of hope and restoration. Mission Global Renewal and its subsidiary Chain Reaction addresses the welfare and reform for individuals affected by sexual abuse/violence and human trafficking. The organizations goal is to save lives, relieve suffering and maintain human dignity to those that exist in the most impoverished societies. This organization focuses on rescuing and providing safety, food, shelter, medical care and education to those trafficked individuals and impacted communities as a whole. By doing so, it will bring about change in the behavioral patterns of a society and their environment will be renewed, revitalized and transformed. The direct beneficiaries are the young children that are sold for sex work, the family members of those children sold, and members of their village and/or communities. Currently, the organization has a presence in the countries of Cambodia, Indonesia and Vietnam, providing shelter, education and life skills to direct beneficiaries. The direct beneficiaries come from the most unfortunate and inhospitable situations where poverty and hunger forces the family members to sell young children to a life of sex work. In addition, Global Renewal has established learning centers that provide education, leadership training and life skills training to over 350 people in the countries of Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam.”

“Cambodia continued ESL classes conducted from the U.S. has been very effective in educating our safehouse children in the midst of the lockdowns. The needs are still great but our long term strategy of educating both young and old is the way moving forward for many of the current challenges the country faces. Vietnam The tragic Vietnam war and occupation of the South by the North, has led to oppression, corruption, poverty, and lack of advancement for the majority of the people. Global Renewal has helped establish leadership training programs in the cities of Ho Chih Minh and Hanoi. Here people from all over Vietnam come and receive education, life skills training and leadership skills, in order to be effective community leaders. The graduates of this program go back to their respective communities/villages and become agents of change. However, with COVID, we have now transitioned to online trainings.”
