Mission

The corporation is formed to alleviate poverty in developing countries through encouraging responsible and sustainable trade, particularly in the textile and apparel industry, and by improving the lives of indigent workers and their families in a specified labor sector. In furtherance of this charitable purpose, the corporation shall, by means of contribtuions or grants; providing, or contracting to provide, management support, technical assistance and other executive services; making, or encuraging the making of, investments, directly or through affiliated or non-affiliated entities.

Cynthia petterson has an annual base compensation of $100,000. In 2019, $60,000 of base compensation is to be paid by share hope foundation and the remaining $40,000 is to be paid by share hope inc (related organization). Cynthia elected to defer $32,734 due from share hope foundation and $4,266 due from share hope inc to provide working capital to both entities. In 2019, share hope inc paid $35,734 of the $40,000 wages due to cynthia. Medical insurance of $8,856 was also provided as part of total compensation package by share hope inc. Additonally, share hope foundation paid $27,266 of the $60,000 wages due to cynthia. See schedule j, part ii for details.

ON THE WHOLE A TOTAL 5,592 FEMALE AND 196 MALE WORKERS PARTICIPATED IN THESE PROGRAMS IN THE CAPITAL OF PORT-AU-PRINCE, AND 2,962 FEMALE WORKERS IN THE NORTHERN CITY OF OUANAMINTHE. WE ESTIMATE THAT THE OVERALL REACH WAS TO 8,750 DIRECTLY AND APPROXIMATELY 52,500 INDIRECTLY (WOMEN, MEN AND FAMILY MEMBERS).

THE PROGRAM SEEKS TO EMPOWER STUDENTS, DEVELOP THEIR SELF-CONFIDENCE, ENCOURAGE THEM TO THINK CRITICALLY AND HELP THEM MAKE PERSONAL, APPLICABLE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND THEIR PERSONAL LIVES. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAM IS TO HELP STUDENTS FINISH WHAT THEY STARTED AND TO PROVIDE THEM WITH NEWER LEARNING STRATEGIES AND METHODS TO BECOME LIFELONG LEARNERS. THE PROGRAM HAS ENROLLED 117 WOMEN AND 93 MEN, AGES 22 - 45 THE STUDENTS MET FROM 4:30 TO 7:30 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY FOLLOWING A FULL DAY OF WORK.

MODULES 1-3 ARE "CORE" TO THE WOMEN'S LEARNING AND MUST BE TAUGHT IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY ARE LISTED BECAUSE THEY ARE DESIGNED TO BUILD ON THE CONTENT OF THE PREVIOUS MODULE.
