Mission

Slcc is a faith-based, not-for-profit cardiovascular specialty organization committed to providing superior cardiovascular health care and health services. We value an integrated approach emphasizing clinical excellence, advanced cardiovascular research, and subspecialty medical education. As a member of saint luke's health system, we are dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental and spiritual health of the diverse communities we serve.

Melinda estes, md, charles robb, and christopher lipp have a business relationship because they are directors, officers, and/or employees of the same affiliated tax-exempt organization.

Effective december 31, 2016, the organization converted to a single-member llc wholly owned by a related 501c3 entity, saint luke's physician group (ein 43-1598353). Simultaneously, the name of the organization changed to saint luke's physican group i, llc. This is the final 990 for the organization. As a separate organization, it will be included in the 990 of its sole member for future years.

The sole corporate member during 2016 was saint luke's health system, inc., a 501c3 tax exempt affiliate. At december 31, 2016 the sole corporate membership transferred to saint luke's physician group, a related 501c3 tax exempt affiliate of saint luke's health system, inc.

Effective december 31, 2016, the organization converted to a single-member llc wholly owned and governed by a related 501c3 entity. There is no separate governing board after the conversion. As such, the 990 was provided to the governing board of the sole owner.

The filing organization has a comprehensive written conflict of interest policy applicable to all directors, officers, and employees. Any actual, possible or perceived conflict of interest is expected to be handled through full and timely disclosure of any such interest, together with absence of persuasion in any discussion and in any vote wherein the interest is involved. Disclosure is to be made when the interest arises, at any time the interest becomes a matter of governing board action, and then annually through completion of a conflict of interest questionnaire. A report is provided to the audit committee of the system board of directors.

A committee of organization's board of directors reviews and approves compensation for the top management executive and all employed physicians. The saint luke's health system board of directors' physician contract review committee also reviews and approves the top management executive and physician compensation for the organization. Independent, external directors serve on both the organization's and saint luke's health system's physician contract review committee. Compensation is supported by an independent compensation consultant. The board committees' actions are contemporaneously documented. This process satisfies the rebuttable presumption procedure. Directors are not compensated for services as a director.

The organization is included in the consolidated financial statements of saint luke's health system inc that are available to the public through emma. MEDICAL STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS ROTATE ON THE INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY'S CARDIOLOGY SERVICE STAFFED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S PHYSICIANS. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE ACGME-ACCREDITED FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS IN CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE, ADVANCE HEART FAILURE AND CARDIAC TRANSPLANT, ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY, INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY, AND CARDIOVASCULAR OUTCOMES. FELLOWSHIPS IN PREVENTIVE CARDIOLOGY AND CARDIOVASCULAR IMAGING ARE ALSO OFFERED. THE PROGRAM DIRECTORS FOR ALL OF THESE CARDIOVASCULAR FELLOWSHIPS ARE THE ORGANIZATION'S PHYSICIANS.THE ORGANIZATION IS ALSO DEDICATED TO CLINICAL RESEARCH.
