Form 990 was presented to the Finance Committee of the parent organization, Penquis, by Penquis Interim Chief Financial Officer, Denice Conary. The Committee as designated by the Penquis Board of Directors unanimously approved the filing of the tax return.
IRS990ScheduleO/GeneralExplanation/Explanation1On May 22, 2012, Broadway Housing's parent organization's Board of Directors adopted a Whistleblower Policy that covers both the parent organization and its subsidiaries. The policy can be found in the Penquis Employee Handbook.
IRS990ScheduleO/GeneralExplanation/Explanation2Broadway Housing Inc. follows the conflict of interest policy as set forth by the parent organization. No person shall be at once an employee of the corporation and a member of the Board of Directors. No person may serve as a member of the Board of Directors while that person's husband, wife, child, sibling or parent is an employee of the corporation. Board of Directors may not directly or indirectly solicit or accept gratuities of a monetary value from any recipient of the corporation's services or from any organization with which the corporation has a contractual relationship. Board of Directors may not receive compensation for serving on the Board of Directors. In October of 2011 it was added to the board agenda to go over any conflict of iterests that may arise during the meeting. It is now something that is discussed during every board meeting. If it is determined that a member may have a conflict of interest during the meeting, the member is asked to leave during the discussion and voting period of such meeting.

Board approval is needed from the parent organization's Board of Directors, based on the recomendation of Human Resources and the survey results.
