Spring community partners, inc. Created a new significant program to initiate an early intervention literacy program for low income students in first and second grades. The pilot program's duration was two 14-week sessions starting september 2014. Each session runs 14 weeks, twice a week for one hour each session. District teachers were engaged as tutors; 22 students were enticipated and acutl 25 students benefited.

This category includes various programs described as follows: pre-school tuition scholarships: provides partial tuition scholarships to local pre-schools. Served: 10 children food and clothing: provides basic needs by pairing needy families with sponsors who supply monthly food baskets and clothing for children. Also runs a bi-annual clothing boutique where gently used clothing and outerwear is recycled to families. Food cards are given to families when there are school holidays and children cannot benefit from free school lunches. In addition, "snack fairies" provide nutritious in-school snacks for 25 to 30 children per day. Served: 175 children musical muses: provided musical instrument rentals and purchased instrument accessories and music books served: 26 students k-12 enrichment sponsors: pays for after-school enrichment classes or programs such as chess, ballet,basketball and other sports, in the dobbs ferry school district. Served: 82 children grades 1-8 homework help served: 20 students high school-scholarship awards: also, provides graduating seniors with awards/scholorship for community services and pursuit of higher education. Served: 3 seniors high school-sat/prom/other: provides sat prep courses, regents study books, senior yearbooks, prom tickets, sports equipment etc as requested. Served: 44 students crisis intervention: provides immediate aid to families in crisis in the form of food cards, clothing, advocating or homemade meals. Served: approx 12 children bridging the digital divide: purchases or provides laptop computers for use in low income family households in dobbs ferry, and provides limited internet service. Also, arranges tutorials to assure that parents are registered on the school website and have access to all school information that is transmitted exclusively through the internet. Served: 5 households ms-test prep books: served: 15 students

SERVED: 175 CHILDREN MUSICAL MUSES: PROVIDED MUSICAL INSTRUMENT RENTALS AND PURCHASED INSTRUMENT ACCESSORIES AND MUSIC BOOKS SERVED: 26 STUDENTS K-12 ENRICHMENT SPONSORS: PAYS FOR AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES OR PROGRAMS SUCH AS CHESS, BALLET,BASKETBALL AND OTHER SPORTS, IN THE DOBBS FERRY SCHOOL DISTRICT. SERVED: 82 CHILDREN GRADES 1-8 HOMEWORK HELP SERVED: 20 STUDENTS HIGH SCHOOL-SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS: ALSO, PROVIDES GRADUATING SENIORS WITH AWARDS/SCHOLORSHIP FOR COMMUNITY SERVICES AND PURSUIT OF HIGHER EDUCATION. SERVED: 3 SENIORS HIGH SCHOOL-SAT/PROM/OTHER: PROVIDES SAT PREP COURSES, REGENTS STUDY BOOKS, SENIOR YEARBOOKS, PROM TICKETS, SPORTS EQUIPMENT ETC AS REQUESTED.
