The organization promotes and develops professionally current and emerging leaders in latin america and the united states with leaders in government, corporations, chambers of commerce, bi-national centers (bncs), and educational institutions to foster citizen diplomacy and to create opportunities for college students, with limited economic resources, through personal and professional development programs and exposure to work experience in u.s. And latin american corporations.2016 achievementssince its inception in 2010, proamericas has been diligently building a partnership model motivating educational institutions, ngos, corporations, governments and civil society to join efforts in providing younger generations with wonderful opportunities. Proamericas continues facilitating the operations of ianamericas (inter-american network of alumni associations) in the u.s. Misael portillo, founder of proamericas, is a 1971 alumnus of the u.s. State departments prestigious international visitor leadership program (ivlp), and acts as ianamericas executive director.in 2016 proamericas participated as presenter at the abla conference, the first convention ever held in the u.s., in august 2016, in houston, texas, introducing kinness as a digital platform to build intelligent communities and to foster collaboration. This platform, in partnership with via consulting group, was also introduced to the state department in washington d.c. Misael portillo, founder of proamericas keeps actively involved with the u.s. State departments alumni associations in the western hemisphere and worldwide. Thanks to this, he has been appointed as member of global ties u.s. Council of international members as well as member of the u.s. State department international exchange alumni council of advisors.major strategic objectives for 2017(1)proamericas (formerly latinsuccess) will be launching a new website, implementing the kinness platform to promote exchange programs between the united states and latin america, in both directions, fostering citizen diplomacy with the purpose of strengthening the bonds between the united states and latin america.(2)to keep promoting the implementation of the student leadership challenge and the 7 mindsets programs at american schools and the binational centers of latin america for them to go beyond the teaching of english to creating leaders.(3)proamericas will keep providing support to abla (association of binational centers of latin america) and global ties us for the implementation of their partnership.(4)proamericas will keep working closely with ianamericas (inter american network of alumni associations) to encourage the state alumni to form their countrys alumni associations throughout the western hemisphere.(5)proamericas will keep fostering the development of cross-sector partnerships through the kinness platform to build intelligent and collaborative communities.(6)proamericas leaders of the americas exchange program: proamericas will keep doing the best efforts for students and professionals to participate in exchange programs and the elei (english language enhancement and immersion) summer camps, by fostering partnerships between the binational centers of latin america and u.s. Universities.(7)proamericas will be participating in the for atlanta iniciative, fostering collaboration between ngos and churches on behalf of the wellbeing and prosperity of the community.(8)proamericas will dedicate special efforts to help the venezuelan people through fundraising for exchange programs and donations to students in need.”
