Mission

The mission of the cci, incorporated in 2009, is to assure that children birth to five years of age who are most at risk for academic failure access the resources they need to succeed.

Children's campus, inc. Is a nonprofit corporation which operates to support and promote the health and well-being of children zero to five years of age and their families, living primarily in the kansas city metropolitan area. Cci and the children's campus of kansas city (cckc) accomplish this mission by co-locating multiple non-profits under one roof to meet the needs of children and their families. Cckc is also the sole member of cci, and the board of directors for both organizations is one and the same.

The entity entered into a management agreement with mc realty group, llc. Mc realty group provides routine building maintenance, and assistance and advisory services in bidding for maintenance and service contracts, as well as monitoring the performance of vendors under contract. Mc realty group also provides financial services to the entity through rent collection, bill payment, monthly financial reporting, and budget creation related to building operations. Service contracts and bill payment are subject to approval by the entity.

Cckc and cci adopted a conflict of interest policy effective october 17, 2011. Each board member is required to sign a statement acknowledging receipt of the conflict of interest policy, and that the individual understands and agrees to comply with the policy. Additionally, each board member completes a conflict of interest disclosure form, which is updated annually. If a conflict of interest exists, the board member will leave the meeting when discussion and voting occurs on a proposed transaction. The board will also address any undisclosed conflicts of interest that arise and determine the appropriate corrective action.

PART X, LINE 2:

The children's campus is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code; however, the children's campus is subject to income taxes on any net income from unrelated business activities. Uncertain tax positions, if any, are recorded in accordance with fasb asc 740, income taxes. Fasb asc 740 requires the recognition of a liability for tax positions taken that do not meet the more-likely-than not standard that the position will be sustained upon examination by the taxing authorities. There is no liability for uncertain tax positions recorded as of june 30, 2016.
