| The 2020-2021 Financial Year was WaterAfrica's twelfth year of existence.During the 2020-2021 fiscal year, WaterAfrica granted $140,000 to World Vision, which used the funds to provide a lifetime of water, sanitation and hygiene to over 2,800 people living in undeveloped areas of Zambia. In addition, World Vision received a matching grant representing 50% of the funds WaterAfrica provided resulting in an additional $70,000 in resources, which provided clean water, sanitation and hygiene to an additional 1,400 people in Zambia. In spite of the unique challenges presented by COVID-19, WaterAfrica raised the awareness of Zambia's' need for safe water, sanitation and hygiene by doing the following:1. Conducting a successful year-end informational and fund raising campaign that resulted in contributions of almost $80,000.2. Conducting a virtual Lake Oswego, Oregon Walk for Water event simulating the daily routine of women all over the world walking to get water. The event raised nearly $30,000 contributions.3. Conducting a virtual Wine to Water fund raising event introducing donors for the need for clean water in Zambia. The event resulted in contributions exceeding $18,000.WaterAfrica has been blessed to partner with World Vision, which has been actively providing clean water in Zambia for many years. In 1990, only 22% of the population in rural Zambia had safe drinking water. By 2021, due to the fund raising efforts of WaterAfrica, World Vision and others, approximately 60% of rural Zambians had safe drinking water. Since 2006, WaterAfrica has provided 60,000 Zambians with clean water, sanitation and hygiene. In partnership with World Vision Zambia, WaterAfrica's goal is to finish the job of providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene to remote villages in Zambia within the next 4 to 6 years. In order to achieve this, WaterAfrica has set an ambitious goal of providing clean water for an additional 35,000 Zambians over the next 4 years.A donation of $50 provides clean water, sanitation and hygiene training for one person for their lifetime. A $200 donation trains a community hygiene promoter who then serves 10 households and a $400 donation provides trainers for a 10 person water, sanitation and hygiene committee. A $2,000 donation rehabilitates a water pump and $5,000 builds an improved ventilated pit latrine at a village school serving 500 students. $15,000 provides a new bore hole, including all sanitation and hygiene training for 250 to 350 people. | $140,000 | $140,000 |
