Additional Explanations

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The mission of the interfaith community shelter, inc. Is to provide safe and hospitable shelter, food, and clothing to men, women and children experiencing homelessness in the city of santa fe and to promote self- reliance by providing a point of entry to the other services necessary to make the transition from homelessness to stable housing. There are several components to ics's client services. They are - the seasonal overnight shelter (sos), - the day services program, - the summer safe haven for all, - the showers to go mobile hygiene program, - fiscal sponsorship of the consuelo's place shelter - and the motel program for seniors experiencing homelessness.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

The interfaith community shelter at pete's place continues to be northern new mexico's largest minimal barrier - or come-as-you-are - homeless shelter. In 24-25, ics added two important programs to its list of services: fiscal sponsorship of the consuelo's place homeless shelter and a motel program that provides private rooms to 25 senior citizens who are experiencing homelessness. Ics has had many successes in connecting guests to resources for life- stabilizing services and permanent housing. Ics case managers assisted shelter guests into the homeless management information system (hmis) and completed vi-spdats with those guests in order to receive housing vouchers. They also aided guests in connecting or maintaining their behavioral health services, through our partnership with la sala, the life link, or the christus st. Vincent's hugs program. Homeless prevention has also been a focus of the shelter's efforts through case management. The showers to go mobile hygiene program takes our lifesaving services on the road. Showers to go offers mobile hygiene services, case management, referrals, and other resources to people on the streets who cannot or will not come into pete's place. Ics's newest program, the senior motel program, focuses on the quietly growing population of unhoused seniors. The program is a partnership the city of santa fe and anchorum health foundation to stabilize older, and at times more complex, unhoused individuals. At any given time, 25 seniors have a private place to stay as they move toward finding a permanent housing solution. The goal of the program is not only stabilize senior guests but to provide them with intensive case management to address the unique needs of this growing population.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Ics is exempt from the federal and state income taxes under section 501(c) (3) of the internal revenue code and similar state provisions and has been determined not to be a private foundation. Ics adopted fasb asc 740-10, income taxes, which requires disclosure of taxable unrelated business income, however, in the opinion of management, such tax, if any, is immaterial. Accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been recorded. Ics files required annual federal form 990 tax returns with the internal revenue service and the state of new mexico.

IRS990/Desc0THE INTERFAITH COMMUNITY SHELTER AT PETE'S PLACE CONTINUES TO BE NORTHERN NEW MEXICO'S LARGEST MINIMAL BARRIER - OR COME-AS-YOU-ARE - HOMELESS SHELTER.
