Flying pig theatre - flying pig theatre academy pays homage to rodger henderson, a professional director who was a familiar presence in the midland theatre community. Flying pig classes are for preschoolers through high school age students. Students are grouped by age and come together at times to rehearse and work in mixed groups on various scenes. They begin by understanding the stories and their characters, learning stage movement and use of voice, doing improvisations and pantomine. Next, they learn more about how to set the story on stage. They plan and build the set, design make-up, costumes and wigs as well as the lights and sounds on stage which will bring the story to life. At the end of the class (several weeks) they perform for family and friends. In 2014, this program was not offered.
