“What is the primary exempt purpose?”

“The South Texas Literacy Coalition (STLC) is a 501-c-3 nonprofit organized and managed to increase awareness and promotion of literacy and its importance to school and life success. We are one of eight literacy coalitions throughtout the state. The STLC provides outreach to children and students whose families are financilly-challenged and underserved. Parents are also engaged in educational sessions helping them understand the importance of literacy - reading and writing skills - to school success and academic achievement in post-secondary educational settings. The STLC also serves as a resource and advocate for adult education and early literacy for local literacy providers. In addition, we gather research information and data on regional family reading habits, literacy attainment, and literacy needs of families.”
