“The organization has identified the following needs:1) Need for comprehensive Behavioral Health Crisis Response without treatment barriers including a 24/7 free hotline, support line services, mobile,crisis,respite services, and walk-in crisis services centers,2) Awareness of, availability of, and collaboration amongst various behavioral health resources and providers in the continuum of care to promote an individuals overall behavioral health wellness and long term care,3) Availability of inpatient, residential, assisted living and other intensive services are not consistent throughout the various regions of Colorado,4) Services (and funding streams) for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders as well as other cognitive and physical disorders continue to be largely segregated,5) Workforce vacancies especially common for psychiatrists, nurses, both licensed and unlicensed clinicians, counselors, social workers, and peer specialists likely contribute to many of the service gaps across the regions,6) Populations throughout the western region in Colorado remain, and are likely to remain, the most underserved population for behavioral health services, and7) Attention to suicide risk and prevention throughout the state of ColoradoThe following Statewide Initiatives are currently in place to address identified needs:1) Enhance Colorados crisis response system through Colorado Crisis Services (The Organization is a provider to this program),2) Expansion of hospital capacity,3) Enhancing community care,4) Building a trauma-informed culture of care,5) Development a consolidated mental health and substance abuse data system in larger community mental health provider organizations, and6) Better alignment of funding and resources.The Organization's initiatives in place to meet identified needs:Program Services: All RMCP program services have zero treatment barriers for access to care. Services are free, comprehensive, and 24/7. RMCP also connects callers to other providers of care at the least restrictive level of care when deemed necessary, including emergent and non-urgent resources.1) 24/7 Free Behavioral Health Crisis Hotline staffed by masters level clinicians, - Provides crisis care through Colorado Crisis Services, in collaboration with four regional providers on in-person crisis care (mobile crisis, respite, and walk-in services), - Regional provider for Lifeline Suicide Prevention hotline 2) Support Line staffed by Peers with lived-experience in behavioral health issues and/or are living in recovery, 3) Searchable Resource Directory that organizes over 3,000 various local behavioral health resources including a multitude of payer sources and service types, accessed by RMCP staff and to the public through a free database on the RMCP website, and4) Hospital Follow Up services for those discharged by emergency departments.”
