“The vision of mission birmingham is the transformation of the birmingham metropolitan area. Our mission is to see the whole church take the whole gospel to the whole city. We accomplish that by bringing leaders together to create partnerships that advance the kingdom in our community. We also seek to equip leaders and their organizations to be more effective in their communities.mission birmingham is leading the way in making a difference in the east lake community of birmingham. More than twenty ministries and organizations are gathering on a bi-monthly basis for strategy development and partnering. The leaders of the organizations are building relationships with one another and continually look for ways to partner with one another. We call this the east lake community conversation connectmission birmingham connected leaders throughout the region to furtherchrists kingdom:east lake community conversations - a very special group of 10-15 ministry leaders that focus ministry effort on the east lake community met eight times this year. They grew to love and trust one another and found some effective strategies for working together.international missions leaders gatherings - 10-20 leaders of international missions agencies and missions pastors met on a quarterly basis throughout 2017. They prayed for one another and encouraged each other in very meaningful ways. Issachar summit - on september 21 over 200 leaders attended a day-long missions seminar called the issachar summit that focused on the progress of the church in completing the great commission during our lifetime. We are currently engaged in mobilizing those who attended to support church planting, technology-based evangelism and bible translation initiatives for unengaged, unreached people groups.cry for birmingham - mission birmingham planned and executed four multi-cultural, multi-denominational quarterly prayer gatherings for pastors and leaders of christian nonprofit ministries. The cry for birmingham prayer gatherings were hosted by regions bank in their executive dining room with 20-40 leaders in attendance. Equipmission birmingham provided leadership development training to churchesand nonprofit ministries in the following ways:prayer coaching and facilitation - kevin moore, mission birminghams executive director, coached prayer leaders at christ the king lutheran church and facilitated monthly congregational prayer summits with 12-75 attendees. Nonprofit education series - mission birmingham, in collaboration with three other organizations, planned and executed four seminars in the series, offering free capacity-building training to nonprofit leaders. The seminars, attended by an average of 28 leaders, presented information about irs reporting, grant writing, technology and year-end giving.chick-fil-a leader academy - mission birmingham connected a chick-fil-a owner/operator and the leadership of a christian high school in east lake (banks academy) to provide 15 students an opportunity to learn servant leadership through the chick-fil-a leader academy. Kevin moore and the cfa team are facilitating the video-based training and accompanying service projects. Leadmission birmingham was at the forefront of significant ministry and prayer events in our city:coming back stronger mens conference - kevin moore led a collaboration of five ministries that produced a two-day mens conference on rebounding from adversity called coming back stronger challenging 110 men from all over the city through the ministry of three nationally-known speakers. Community prayer events - mission birmingham led three significant prayer gatherings in 2017:shades mountain christian school prayer journey through birmingham - 120 high school students went on a half-day prayer journey through birminghams city parks.city-wide disciple now - 250 high school students from multiple churches throughout the region participated in a 3-hour prayer and worship gathering.city lights city-wide prayer gatheri”
