“Due to the covid-19 pandemic of 2020, blue ridge pride was unable to hold its annual pride festival in-person. A virtual event was held in lieu of the typical annual festivities. Through local support, we were able to put on a smaller scale event showcasing local talent.”

“Blue ridge pride engages in multiple community building projects. Through the wnc lgbtq oral history project, we are seeking to create a more inclusive history of the wnc region through recollections and artifacts of individuals in the lgbtq community. The virtual center continues to be rolled out on the blue ridge pride website, promoting welcoming directories and an events calendar. Through use of the community partner fund, we were able to help the local community during the covid-19 pandemic. Grants were given to organizations helping those affected.”
