iDANZ, Inc. is a non-profit corporation for the performing arts founded to support and promote careers in dance, the creation of dance for dance on camera projects and live performances, and the study of dance by providing outlets through new media innovations, workshops, live events, and dance for charity initiatives. We produce events live and online for dancers, choreographers, and dance companies to showcase their work through choreographer showcases and "dance for charity" benefits organized by iDANZ in which we volunteer to raise money collaborating our time with other organizations for causes such as disaster relief, terminal diseases, hunger, social injustice, and Arts programs for disadvantaged communities. We also provide education for dancers, via master classes, workshops, and online interviews with noted dancers and choreographers within the industry. We provide support for the dance community by helping them publicize their performances through our websites, social network, and dance reviews. Our flagship project is iDANZToday.com, a website designed to promote, support, and provide a forum for dancers in which to communicate with each other, locally and around the world, dance and other dance initiatives through video, blogs, messaging, and live events while at the same time building audience recognition of independent choreographers, esteemed dancers, and small to mid-size dance companies internationally and throughout each state in the U.S.$0$0
Organization has reviewed over 300 dance performances in the New York City area, written in a perspective for pre-professional and young professional dancers and posted these writings and dance analysis on our website www.iDANZToday.com. Our organization is all volunteer. We received 501 (c) (3) status in 2011.$0$0
Dance Activism. iDANZ has used the power of social networking and it's connections in the dance community worldwide to help dancers devastated by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Students across the island still want to train; however, many dance studios in Puerto Rico suffered structural damage and loss of power as well as financial loss because dancers and parents could no longer pay tuition for classes; not to mention, many of the dancers and instructors lost a lot of their personal belongings including dance attire which can be very expensive to replace. iDANZ reached out to dance studios across the country and around the world to ask their students to donate gently used leotards, tights, ballet shoes, pointe shoes, dance shoes, dance warm-ups, etc. iDANZ believes in the power of dance and how dance can bring a comforting sense of solace to the hearts and souls of these dancers; and most importantly, normalcy, to dancers who need to return to a training routine. We wanted to start with efforts to re-wardrobe dancers beginning with schools in San Juan. Well, over 90 schools responded to our plea and had their students donate their gently used dance attire. This was a GREAT exercise in teaching empathy to mainland dance students about helping dancers in America just like them, but so happen to be disenfranchised by unfortunate circumstances beyond their control. We had so many donations that not only were we able to re-wardrobe dancers in San Juan, but we were also able to distribute the overflow to other schools throughout the island children sized through professional! These donations of used dance attire were sent from dance schools all across the United States DIRECTLY to San Juan to the arts community of San Juan, Puerto Rico for IMMEDIATE IMPACT. iDANZ provided the volunteer efforts as facilitators in creating awareness of Hurricane Maria's effect on the Arts and getting the word out about the needs of dancers in Puerto Rico to a network of dance schools across social networks and other platforms.$0$0
In continuation of its Dance Acvism, iDANZ is working with young classrooms of students, college dance majors, dance studios and independent professional artists to volunteer to create awareness of environmental injustice throughout the United States and around the world. Students and professional artists remotely are performing and creating movement choreography highlighting the economic, health, safety, and environmental disparities of communities of color impacted by landfills, toxic wastes, contaminated air, earth, and water and other environmental disasters.$0$0
Research. iDANZ is providing volunteer research support, recommendation, education, and volunteer assistance in efforts to research vernacular dances, social dances, and dance styles from all over the world!$0$0
Volunteer Coordination. iDANZ is providing volunteer efforts to coordinate dance projects and free admin to identify and align dance artists with live music and make it available for the community for free.$0$0
