Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Form 990 is prepared an independent cpa firm and is reviewed by the board prior to being filed.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The conflict of interest policy is reviewed annually. In the event of a conflict, the individual with conflicting interests is asked to recuse him or herself from voting.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

This year, co.lab shifted its focus to programs that more closely align with our mission to support scalable, sustainable businesses and local economic growth. In response to community needs and strategic feedback from partners, we prioritized initiatives that leverage local resources and provide long-term, meaningful support to entrepreneurs, especially those in rural and underserved areas. Our new sustainable mobility accelerator leverages partnerships with local corporations to support entrepreneurs who are innovating within the mobility sector, a critical area for our region's economic development. Similarly, the kiva loan program offers accessible, zero-interest loans to early-stage entrepreneurs who might otherwise face barriers to traditional funding. This year, we have also strengthened our commitment to rural and underrepresented communities through the co.starters program, which focuses on helping entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses.

Form 990, Part III, Line 3

This year, co.lab shifted its focus to programs that more closely align with our mission to support scalable, sustainable businesses and local economic growth. As part of this refocus, we discontinued our previous outdoor recreation and cpg accelerators, redirecting resources to programs that provide broader, more mission-aligned impact.

Form 990, Part IX, Line 11G

Other: program service expenses 192,169. Management and general expenses 89,489. Fundraising expenses 0. Total expenses 281,658.
