As ohio's statewide coalition, ohio alliance to end sexual violence advocates for comprehensive repsponses and rape crisis services for survivors and empowers communities to prevent sexual violence
The ohio alliance to end sexual violence (oaesv) is ohio's federally recognized statewide sexual assault coalition. Oaesv works to strengthen ohio's response to sexual violence through advocacy, training, technical assistance, prevention, and public policy leadership. We provide support to rape crisis centers, allied professionals, and communities to ensure survivor-centered services, advance prevention strategies, and expand equitable access to resources. Oaesv is committed to creating safe, thriving communities by shaping public policy that affects victims of the crime of sexual violence and promoting access to quality services statewide.

UNLIKE MANY FEDERAL GRANTS THAT LIMIT INDIRECT COSTS, THE STATE RAPE CRISIS FUND ALLOWS FOR THE ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES TOWARD CRITICAL OPERATIONAL EXPENSES, INCLUDING FACILITIES MANAGEMENT, UTILITIES, OFFICE SUPPLIES, TECHNOLOGY, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SALARIES. THIS FLEXIBILITY SUPPORTS ORGANIZATIONAL STABILITY AND ALLOWS PROGRAM STAFF TO DEVOTE MORE TIME TO DIRECT SERVICES AND ADVOCACY. THE STATE RAPE CRISIS FUND IS OAESV'S LARGEST PROGRAMMATIC FUNDING SOURCE, SUPPORTING CORE INITIATIVES AND PROVIDING STABILITY TO SCALE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE EFFORTS. BY COVERING BOTH DIRECT AND INDIRECT COSTS, THIS FUNDING ENSURES OAESV MAINTAINS A STRONG INFRASTRUCTURE TO SERVE SURVIVORS ACROSS OHIO AND SUPPORT THE PROFESSIONALS WHO ASSIST THEM. THIS STATE FUNDING REPRESENTS AN ONGOING COMMITMENT TO ADDRESSING SEXUAL VIOLENCE COMPREHENSIVELY AND SUPPORTS OAESV'S MISSION TO BUILD SAFER, MORE INFORMED, AND COMPASSIONATE COMMUNITIES.THE STATE RAPE CRISIS FUND IS A GOVERNOR'S LINE ITEM ALLOCATION IN OHIO'S BUDGET. AS THE FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED STATEWIDE SEXUAL ASSAULT COALITION AND THE DESIGNATED TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDER, OAESV RECEIVES BY STATUTE 10% OF THE BIANNUAL ALLOTMENT. THESE FUNDS ARE USED TO DELIVER COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO RAPE CRISIS CENTERS, HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS, AND ALLIED SERVICE PROVIDERS ACROSS THE STATE, STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY AND CONSISTENCY OF SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. THE FUND ALSO SUPPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PROFESSIONALS TO ATTEND STATE AND NATIONAL CONFERENCES, ENHANCING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE THROUGH HIGH-QUALITY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
