“Youth programs - in the 2014-2015 school year two cranes institute (tci) continued with three afterschool aikido classes at jane addams k-8 in seattle. This was our sixth year of teaching at this school. Through the three afterschool sessions we worked with 70 children in kindergarten through 5th grade, an increase over the previous school year. While tci has invitations to expand the program to other schools, we need to certify more teachers with less reliance on volunteer staff. The training offered through these programs is of increasing importance as our communities grapple with the effect of bullying in schools which ultimately extends into the workplace later in life. Tci is now examining the potential for strategic alliances that can help leverage awareness of our programs, ensure sustainable funding and create a pathway for program growth to meet increasing demand for services.”
“Leadership program - our leadership program offers ways to improve management skills, develop the emotional intelligence to handle complex situations and resolve conflicts, build trust, facilitate effective teamwork and negotiate sustainable agreements. During 2014, two of our facilitators also became certified to offer the samurai game as a component of our leadership program. In the fall, we offered two weekend trainings-one for teens and one for adults which both drew an enthusiastic response and requests to offer this training. We are exploring a continuation of this effort for both a dojo setting and in corporate venues. Tens of thousands of individuals from around the world have participated in the samurai game and have used it in organizational and corporate trainings and retreats, university leadership/management and organizational behavior courses, school programs, and personal development seminars and workshops. Tci can now offer the samurai game as a regular part of program offerings.”

IN THE FALL, WE OFFERED TWO WEEKEND TRAININGS-ONE FOR TEENS AND ONE FOR ADULTS WHICH BOTH DREW AN ENTHUSIASTIC RESPONSE AND REQUESTS TO OFFER THIS TRAINING. WE ARE EXPLORING A CONTINUATION OF THIS EFFORT FOR BOTH A DOJO SETTING AND IN CORPORATE VENUES. TENS OF THOUSANDS OF INDIVIDUALS FROM AROUND THE WORLD HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE SAMURAI GAME AND HAVE USED IT IN ORGANIZATIONAL AND CORPORATE TRAININGS AND RETREATS, UNIVERSITY LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR COURSES, SCHOOL PROGRAMS, AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS.
