Profile

Life impact works relentlessly to make a difference in the lives of trafficked, exploited, and at-risk children in thailand, burma, and brazil. Through local prevention projects and outreaches, we work to prevent child exploitation, reaching nearly 1,000 children in brazil alone. We offer tutoring, counseling, vocational training, food, and so much more. We partner with local governments, including police, social welfare workers, hospitals, and community leaders, to rescue children from horrific situations, operating some 20 family-style safe homes in the three nations. We don't just rescue children. We take every step possible to bring restoration, healing, and wholeness to each child entrusted to our care. We help them heal through counseling and education, giving them the love and childhood they deserve, and pointing them to the greatest rescuer of all, jesus.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2

Lana m. Vasquez and kimberly mora - family relationship mike rovner and janet rovner - family relationship brian gibson and jessica gibson - family relationship

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The form 990 was prepared by an independent cpa firm. The form 990 was reviewed in detail by the ceo and bookkeeper prior to filing. The reviewed form 990 is then provided to the board of directors prior to filing with the irs.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

At the annual board meeting, each board member and officer is required to complete and sign a conflict of interest questionnaire. These are reviewed by the us operations manager and kept on file at the corporate office. Should any potential conflicts of interest be disclosed, the board member or officer would be asked to refrain from participation in any deliberation or decision with regard to matters affected by the relationship.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15A

Line 15a: the ceo's compensation is set by independent members of the board at the annual board meeting. They compare ceo compensation for hundreds of national, state, and local non-profits. The independent members of the board then consider the ceo's salary range per her responsibilities. The compensation approval process is documented in the board minutes. Line 15b: the organization does not compensate any other officers or key employees. Therefore, this line was answered no in accordance with the instructions.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are available upon request.

IRS990/Desc0OUR PROGRAMS IN BRAZIL ARE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH GRANTS TO LIFE IMPACT BRAZIL, BASED IN CAMPINA GRANDE, BRAZIL. WE HAVE SIX PREVENTION PROJECTS IN FIVE BRAZILIAN COMMUNITIES IN THREE REGIONS: RIO DE JANEIRO, CEARA (NORTHEAST), AND THE AMAZON (NORTH). THESE PROJECTS PROVIDE A SAFE PLACE FOR THE CHILDREN TO RECEIVE HELP, TUTORING, FOOD, SUPPLIES, PLAY GAMES OR SPORTS, AND LEARN ABOUT JESUS. IN 2024, OVER A 1,000 CHILDREN WERE ENROLLED IN OUR PREVENTION PROJECTS. IN 2024, WE DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 137,000 MEALS AND NEARLY 38,000 POUNDS OF FOOD. OUR MISSION IS TO PREVENT ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION SINCE MANY OF THE CHILDREN LIVE IN SOME OF THE DARKEST AND MOST DANGEROUS REGIONS OF THE WORLD FOR CHILDREN.SOME WILL SELL THEIR BODIES FOR RICE AND BEANS. WHILE FOR OTHERS, THEIR ONLY HOPE FOR MONEY OR STATUS IS TO BE A DRUG DEALER OR THE GIRLFRIEND OF A DRUG DEALER. OUR LIFE IMPACT BRAZIL TEAM DOES EVERYTHING IT CAN TO HELP FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY WITH FOOD, EDUCATION, VOCATIONAL TRAINING, COUNSELING, AND SHARING THE GOSPEL WITH THEM. A PROFESSIONAL STAFF OF PSYCHOLOGISTS AND SOCIAL WORKERS VISITS FAMILIES IN "FAVELAS" EVERY YEAR. THEY ARE TRAINED TO RECOGNIZE ANY ABUSE IN THE HOME. THEY ALSO WORK WITH PUBLIC ENTITIES TO CHANGE THE COMMUNITY AND KEEP THE CHILDREN SAFE, HOLDING CAMPAIGNS TO TEACH THE COMMUNITY HOW TO IDENTIFY CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING. IN 2024, WE HELD 100 OUTREACHES IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE. WE HELPED 700 FAMILIES WITH BASIC NECESSITIES. IN THE AMAZON, WE RECEIVED CERTIFICATION IN DECEMBER TO OPEN OUR FIRST SAFE HOME. WE BEGAN THE PROCESS IN JULY OF 2023 AND COMPLETED IT A YEAR AND A HALF LATER. GRANTS TO LIFE IMPACT HELP PAY FOR PROJECTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS.

IRS990/MissionDesc0LIFE IMPACT WORKS RELENTLESSLY TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF TRAFFICKED, EXPLOITED, AND AT-RISK CHILDREN IN THAILAND, BURMA, AND BRAZIL.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0OUR PROGRAMS IN THAILAND ARE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH GRANTS TO THE LIFE IMPACT THAILAND FOUNDATION, ESTABLISHED IN 2015 AND BASED IN MAE SOT, THAILAND. THE FOUNDATION IS GOVERNMENT-RECOGNIZED AND CERTIFIED, THE FIRST OF ITS KIND ON THE THAI-BURMA BORDER, ORGANIZED TO PROPERLY FACILITATE OPERATIONS IN THE COUNTRY. OUR 18 FAMILY-STYLE SAFE HOMES ARE LOCATED ON 52 ACRES. OUR EMERGENCY SHELTER IS IN AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION. IN 2024, WE HOUSED AND CARED FOR JUST OVER 100 UNDERAGE CHILDREN WHO HAD BEEN EXPLOITED, ABUSED, TRAFFICKED, OR WERE LIVING AS ORPHANS. TWENTY-FOUR OF THESE CHILDREN WERE RESCUED IN 2024. EVERY RESCUED CHILD HAS HOUSE PARENTS, LIVES IN A FAMILY-STYLE SAFE HOME, AND IS PROVIDED ALL OF LIFE'S NECESSITIES, INCLUDING EDUCATION AND MEDICAL CARE. THE CHILDREN ALSO PARTICIPATE IN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES LIKE SPORTS AND MUSIC PROGRAMS. BESIDES RESCUING CHILDREN, WE ALSO TAKE STEPS TO PREVENT THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN FROM BEING SOLD, TRAFFICKED, OR PRESSURED INTO A LIFE OF EXPLOITATION AND SLAVERY THROUGH OUR OUTREACH AND PREVENTION PROJECTS. IN 2024, WE HELD 112 OUTREACH EVENTS, RAISING AWARENESS AND PROVIDING FOOD AND SUPPLIES, AS WELL AS EMERGENCY SUPPORT WHERE NEEDED. WE REACHED OVER 2,100 VULNERABLE AND AT-RISK PEOPLE IN SCHOOLS, SLUMS, AND VILLAGES. WE DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 45,000 POUNDS OF FOOD. WE SUPPORTED AS MANY AS 32 FAMILIES EACH MONTH WITH OVER 20,000 LBS OF FOOD AND SUPPLIES. WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH SIX SCHOOLS HELPING ABOUT 460 STUDENTS. SEE SCHEDULE F FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OUR GRANT-MAKING AND MONITORING PROCESS.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0BURMA (MYANMAR) MINISTRYBECAUSE OF THE ONGOING CIVIL WAR, WE OFFER DISASTER RELIEF TO INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE IN THE JUNGLES OF BURMA AND EXTREMELY VULNERABLE CHILDREN WHO ARE AT RISK OF BEING TAKEN AS CHILD SOLDIERS OR ARRANGED CHILD BRIDES. IN 2024, WE HELPED OVER 1,100 MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN LIVING IN FEAR BECAUSE OF THE WAR. WE DELIVERED 3,090 POUNDS OF FOOD AND HELD 2 OUTREACHES. IN ADDITION TO RELIEF FOR THOSE DISPLACED BY WAR, WE ALSO HOUSED 13 CHILDREN IN THE HOUSE OF HOPE, A SAFE HOME FOR ORPHANS OF WAR AND AT-RISK CHILDREN. WE ALSO WELCOMED 8 CHILDREN INTO OUR BOARDING HOME WHO HAVE BEEN SEPARATED FROM THEIR PARENTS UNTIL THEY CAN BE REUNITED WITH THEM. THE HOUSE OF HOPE SITS ON 12 ACRES AND WAS HOME TO 21 CHILDREN IMPACTED BY THE WAR.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc0GENERAL MINISTRYIN 2024, WE CONTINUED FULFILLING OUR MISSION TO PREVENT, RESCUE, AND HEAL. WE WORKED TO PREVENT THE EXPLOITATION AND TRAFFICKING OF AT-RISK CHILDREN, RESCUE THOSE ALREADY VICTIMS, AND HEAL THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA BECAUSE OF IT. TO FULFILL OUR ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IN THAILAND, BURMA, AND BRAZIL, WE HAVE MULTIPLE PREVENTION PROJECTS AND CONTINUOUS OUTREACH PROGRAMS IN PLACE. IN THAILAND, WE HAVE RESCUE HOMES THROUGH THE LIFE IMPACT THAILAND FOUNDATION AND REGULARLY CONDUCT COMMUNITY OUTREACHES ALONG THE THAI/BURMA BORDER. WE ARE WORKING TO OPEN OUR FIRST RESCUE HOME IN BRAZIL. IN OUR PREVENTION PROJECTS THERE, WE REACH NEARLY 1,000 CHILDREN. WE FEED FAMILIES AND PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES, TUTORING, AND EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS BALLET AND SOCCER. WE ALSO OFFER VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR OLDER CHILDREN. WE PROVIDE COUNSELING THROUGH ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS TO HELP CHILDREN HEAL FROM THE TRAUMA THEY'VE EXPERIENCED. AND WE TELL THEM ABOUT THE GREATEST RESCUER OF ALL, JESUS. IN 2024 WE GRANTED AN AFRICAN ORPHANAGE $50,000.
