“Program Service Expenses 40,238, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 MOW Program - Acquired Fairmont Tie Inserter for parts, Rotary Dump 2nd Truck from Maine Track, Utility truck w/o crane, utility trailer, and tie crane for parts. Disposed of crane and 1st rotary dump truck as equipment was beyond our ability to repair. Note tie crane was found to be fully operational so we added it to our roster of vehicles and it has proved to be a valuable piece of equipment and we have replaced worn bearings on its central turning shaft. We also replaced bearings on our primary Fairmont tie inserter along with new O-rings on the central hydraulic hub. Our tamper is showing signs of worn rings and we will have the motor rebuilt in 2022.”

“Railroad Operating during a pandemic has proved challenging, but we are managing. We loss a major source of revenue with the cancelation of the Common Ground Country Fair for a 2nd year. That said, Ridership on our events were strong though we operated at reduced capacity to meet CDC guidelines. We took out a mortgage on the Unity Engine House property securing our future with the ability to operate four seasons in the Central Maine area. A major track renewal project was completed with the re-decking of the Sebasticook River Bridge. Obtained a new revenue source through a lease with Maine Switching Services for office, shop space, and MOW equipment.”

“RailCycle Program Due to staffing shortages we were forced to end this program early.”

“Locomotive Program Locomotive 1483 remains our primary locomotive. Locomotive 1950 restoration saw significant progress with the firing of both main engines, replacement of missing traction motors, repacking of journals, and preparation of body for painting. Locomotive 53 restoration is on hold pending the completion of 1950. Entered into a lease agreement with Maine Switching Services for locomotive power. With the sale of Pan Am Railways, this agreement ensures the BML will have sufficient motive power for our operating needs.”
