IRS990/Desc0Harmony Labs conducted and supported research and awareness projects focused on the influence and impact of media on a variety of issues. This included projects to develop new Virtual Reality approaches to more effectively educate young people on bullying, creating impact design toolkits for media makers working on online privacy issues, and working with filmmakers to understand the current cultural conversations happening around the climate issue.Harmony Labs initiated a new project aimed at developing the resources and tools necessary to enable a cross-disciplinary approach to generating basic knowledge and understanding about media influence and to apply that knowledge to media solutions that benefit society. This work included building data infrastructure, technical support, data science resources and a library of analytic tools and models that could be shared with relevant stakeholders and the general public, including researchers, industry and media practitioners. It also included the building of a basic framework for industry partners to engage and share knowledge resources with researchers and practioners to address social issues that arise in the media context.
