“"there's a monkey in my chair" program is designed for preschool and elementary aged children who are missing school because of cancer. Each child is provided with a monkey kit featuring a large stuffed monkey that takes their place in school when they are unable to be there. The kit includes a backpack, book and other items that can be utilized by the child and their classmates including a secure way to send e-mails and pictures to one another. The program has also been utilized by more than 100 hospitals nationwide.”
