The bylaws state that a director is expected to exercise his or her powers in the interest of the foundation and not in their individual interest or for any other person or entity. “The pritchett family announced at the foundation's 2013 annual fundraising event a pledge for 1 million to benefit the uf health shands children's hospital. Such pledge is payable over 5 years to the uf foundation and credit will be given to the sebastian ferrero foundation as per the gift agreement between sebastian ferrero foundation and the university of florida foundation. Form 990 - additional information at the close of 2016, the foundation's assets included 195,318 in pledges and accounts receivable. The foundation recognized contribution revenue of the same amount in its prior year income. During 2017, the foundation received 111,060 of this money. The remaining pledged receivables has been removed due to the funds were contributed to university of florida directly, thus reducing the university of florida pledge payable as well. The 195,318 reduction in receivables is reflected on part x, line 3. Because revenue related to these contributions was recognized in prior years, the receipt of these contributions during 2017 is appropriately not reflected in the 2017 contribution revenue of the foundation. Part ix, line 7 - other salaries and wages the foundation leases its employees; therefore, part v, line 2a reports zero w-2s. The leased employee expenses are reported on part ix, line 7.”

THE FOUNDATION RECOGNIZED CONTRIBUTION REVENUE OF THE SAME AMOUNT IN ITS PRIOR YEAR INCOME. DURING 2017, THE FOUNDATION RECEIVED 111,060 OF THIS MONEY. THE REMAINING PLEDGED RECEIVABLES HAS BEEN REMOVED DUE TO THE FUNDS WERE CONTRIBUTED TO UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA DIRECTLY, THUS REDUCING THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA PLEDGE PAYABLE AS WELL. THE 195,318 REDUCTION IN RECEIVABLES IS REFLECTED ON PART X, LINE 3. BECAUSE REVENUE RELATED TO THESE CONTRIBUTIONS WAS RECOGNIZED IN PRIOR YEARS, THE RECEIPT OF THESE CONTRIBUTIONS DURING 2017 IS APPROPRIATELY NOT REFLECTED IN THE 2017 CONTRIBUTION REVENUE OF THE FOUNDATION.
