“There are organizational members.”

“Various non-profit and for-profit organizations from the community which share the goals of our organization are eligible to be a member and may join the membership upon approval of the executive committee. Each "organizational" member is entitled to attend all board meetings, to vote in the annual baord elections and to run for a board seat in the constituency that they represent. "supporting organizations" of the organization are not eligible to run for board seats, but may attend all board meetings. Organizational members that are not elected to the board of directors are not entitled to approve that governing bodys decisions. No organizational members are entitled to a share of the organizations assets. The sole entitlement each organizational member has is to designate a representative and an alternate to the board of directors (governing body). None of the organizational members are entitled to approve governing bodys decisions or a share of the organizations assets.”

“The organizations contract accountant reviews the form 990 before it is filed and offers suggested changes, if necessary. After any necessary changes are made, the return is given to the executive director to review and approve.”

“The organizations written conflict of interest policy requires that any member in connection with any actual or possible conflict of interest, must disclose the existance of the financial interest and be given the opportunity to disclose all material facts to the directors and members of commitees with governing board delegated powers considering the proposed transaction or arrangement.”

“Renewable alaska energy project engages in general public outreach and education on a year round basis. Examples include creation and distribution of electronic newsletters; presentations at civic clubs and schools; tabling at public events; creation and dissemination of printed materials discussing renewable energy and energy efficiency; participation in committees and advisory groups focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy; meetings with energy stakeholders and paid media.”

“Ak enrgy smart is a web-based k-12 curriculumn resource on energy efficency that reap updates and disseminates. Reap updates lesson plans and lesson materials. Included in the work are teacher training sessions and classroom visits in schools through out the state. The islanded grid resource center is a collaborative effort with the island institute and the national renewable energy laboratory to create a self-sustaining knowledge center and resource for isolated islanded grids using or considering wind power through a network of wind operators, government agencies, researchers and technical experts that increases information sharing and capacity building for islanded electric grids.”
