Pitcairn, pa, a small town of 4,000 residents located in allegheny county, has two volunteer fire departments. Neither of these organizations provide any emergency medical services. In march of 1984, pitcairn ambulance association was formed to provide emergency medical treatment and transportation to medical facilities for the residents of pitcairn. The emergency medical staff personnel are educated and trained to provide immediate emergency medical assistance. The past, present and future activities remain the same as the organizational goals to provide quality medical care to the residents of pitcairn, pa and to provide that care in a timely manner.

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

The officers of the organization are unpaid for their administrative time and efforts, however, if any officer is scheduled for hourly ambulance service, they are paid an hourly rate the same as any other employee.

Form 990, Part V

The organization is directly associated with the borough of pitcairn. For part of the 2015 calender year, the ems technicians were paid hourly and those wages were included in the regular payroll of the borough. The borough included the wages on their quarterly payroll reports and issued additional w2 forms to those workers. The organization reimbursed the borough for the wage payments as well as the employer related payroll taxes. The organization is recognized by the borough of pitcairn as a service provided by the borough. In addition, during part of 2015, the ems technicians were paid through the west penn allgeheny health system. Once again, the organization reimbursed the health system for the wage payments as well as the employer related payroll taxes. In may 2015, the organization hired an outside payroll provider to handle all organizational payroll needs. In january 2016, the organization issued w2 forms for 2015 in their own name and employer identification number.

IN MARCH OF 1984, PITCAIRN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT AND TRANSPORTATION TO MEDICAL FACILITIES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF PITCAIRN. THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL STAFF PERSONNEL ARE EDUCATED AND TRAINED TO PROVIDE IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ACTIVITIES REMAIN THE SAME AS THE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS TO PROVIDE QUALITY MEDICAL CARE TO THE RESIDENTS OF PITCAIRN, PA AND TO PROVIDE THAT CARE IN A TIMELY MANNER.

FOR PART OF THE 2015 CALENDER YEAR, THE EMS TECHNICIANS WERE PAID HOURLY AND THOSE WAGES WERE INCLUDED IN THE REGULAR PAYROLL OF THE BOROUGH. THE BOROUGH INCLUDED THE WAGES ON THEIR QUARTERLY PAYROLL REPORTS AND ISSUED ADDITIONAL W2 FORMS TO THOSE WORKERS. THE ORGANIZATION REIMBURSED THE BOROUGH FOR THE WAGE PAYMENTS AS WELL AS THE EMPLOYER RELATED PAYROLL TAXES. THE ORGANIZATION IS RECOGNIZED BY THE BOROUGH OF PITCAIRN AS A SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE BOROUGH. IN ADDITION, DURING PART OF 2015, THE EMS TECHNICIANS WERE PAID THROUGH THE WEST PENN ALLGEHENY HEALTH SYSTEM. ONCE AGAIN, THE ORGANIZATION REIMBURSED THE HEALTH SYSTEM FOR THE WAGE PAYMENTS AS WELL AS THE EMPLOYER RELATED PAYROLL TAXES. IN MAY 2015, THE ORGANIZATION HIRED AN OUTSIDE PAYROLL PROVIDER TO HANDLE ALL ORGANIZATIONAL PAYROLL NEEDS. IN JANUARY 2016, THE ORGANIZATION ISSUED W2 FORMS FOR 2015 IN THEIR OWN NAME AND EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
