The mission of the grant foundation (has)is to collaborate with the people of the artibonite valley, haiti as they strive to improve their health and quality of life.

Operate hopital albert schweitzer haiti (has) to collaborate with the people of the artibonite valley district of haiti as they strive to improve their health and quality of life. Established in 1956, hopital albert schweitzer haiti (has) is an integrated health network serving the 350,000 people living in a 610-square-mile area of the lower artibonite valley and surrounding mountain communities. Has provides a complete continuum of care for children and adults, ensuring equitable access for all people in its service area, regardless of their ability to pay. Running an operation of this size and scale in haiti requires a large staff of medical and non-medical employees -more than 534 people are employed in and around deschapelles. Has incorporates a collaborative approach to healthcare, working with the haitian government, non-governmental organizations, and international entities to fund work and deliver the best possible services to meet the community's ongoing healthcare needs.

IN 2018, A TOTAL OF 163,635 CONSULTATIONS WERE CONDUCTED BETWEEN FOUR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS AND MOBILE CLINICS - A 2% INCREASE OVER 2017. HAS' WATER AND SANITATION PROGRAM DRILLS WELLS AND CONSTRUCTS LATRINES, RAINWATER CATCHMENT CISTERNS, AND OTHER WATER AND SANITATION STRUCTURES THROUGHOUT HAS AREA. THE TEAM DRILLED 9 NEW WELLS, CONSTRUCTED 4 LATRINE BLOCKS, AND REACHED OVER 50,961 COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH EDUCATION ABOUT BEST PRACTICES IN HYGIENE AND SANITATION.
