The agency's mission is to ensure that all children are fed regular and nutritious meals and develop lifelong healthy eating habits. Children's hunger alliance does this by directly feeding children nutritious meals in childcare homes and afterschool programs, increasing easy access to nutritious foods in schools and summer feeding locations and educating children to make healthy food choices and engage in physical activity to reduce the incidence of obesity and promote lifelong health. Children's hunger alliance works with schools, childcare providers, and youth-serving organizations, as well as elected officials and other policy makers, businesses, and individuals in advancement of its mission.

Mission

See schedule o.children's hunger alliance is a statewide nonprofit organization founded in 1970 that is dedicated to overcoming food insecurity by ensuring that every child in ohio, regardless of circumstances, has consistent access to nutritious meals year-round, both during the school year and over the summer months. Through its efforts, cha seeks to improve food security and promote healthier outcomes for children across ohio by meeting their needs right where they are.

Ensuring children without access receive healthy food, nutrition education & physical activity.

CHILDREN'S HUNGER ALLIANCE ALSO PROVIDES MEALS FOR SUMMER PROGRAMS THROUGH THE SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM (SFSP), PROVIDING MORE THAN 95,700 MEALS TO 127 SITE LOCATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, THE AGENCY PROVIDED OVER 697,000 MEALS TO SCHOOLS AND CHILDCARE/HEAD START CENTERS FOR CHILDREN TO TAKE HOME WEEKLY TO ENSURE ACCESS TO MEALS OVER THE WEEKEND WHEN NOT IN SCHOOL OR CHILDCARE.
