Sch's mission is to provide comprehensive counseling, education and housing resources necessary for latinos and other low-to-moderate income families in the chicagoland area, develop competence and responsibility in meeting their financial objectives.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Housing counseling program pre-purchase counseling- sch prepares prospective first time homebuyers to become mortgage ready. Sch offers both individual and group pre-purchase counseling services, which cover budget preparation, credit history evaluation, loan packaging and other services related to purchasing a home. Foreclosure prevention- sch's foreclosure counseling program connects families with the one-on-one counseling they need to keep their homes and realize housing security. Post-purchase counseling- sch supports existing homeowners with understanding escrow, finding affordable insurance, acessing tax exemptions, applying for energy assistance, building emergency repair funds, developing a seasonal maintenance checklist, and recognizing when and how refinancing is an appropriate course of action. Rental program chicagoland bilingual landlord association (cbla) program- sch helps low- to-moderate income landlords become educated and empowered about their rights and responsibilities as landlords. Primarily used by landlords of small properties, the clients can participate in one-on-one counseling or group workshops aimed at helping them better manage their properties, apply their rights and responsibilites as owners, and provide tenant families with safe, decent and affordable rental unit. Support program liheap energy assiatances program- this program uses a federal pass through grant to help pay a significant part of low income renters' utility costs and needed weatherization repairs that will enable families to stabilize their utility budgets so that they can meet their other basic financial obligations. Homeless prevention, affordable housing location and sustainability counseling- sch works with clients in one-on-one setting to locate affordable rental units and provide counseling and assistance to overcome their challenges in securing a safe and sustainable housing. This program connects individuals with available resources to ease the burden of housing security. Financial literacy program- sch provides workshops and one-on-one counseling that focuses on budget preparation, money management and the importance of financial responsibility includes credit restoration counseling and financial coaching.

RENTAL PROGRAM CHICAGOLAND BILINGUAL LANDLORD ASSOCIATION (CBLA) PROGRAM- SCH HELPS LOW- TO-MODERATE INCOME LANDLORDS BECOME EDUCATED AND EMPOWERED ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES AS LANDLORDS.
