Activity 2

Sexual assault: aware's sexual assault program is robust and doing well. The services continue to empower the survivors of sexual assault to heal from their ordeals. The sexual assault program provided services to many survivors and family members throughout the year. Over 95% of the individuals in the program agreed they received the services and information they needed to deal with their specific ordeals. The program has nurses providing sexual assault exams, pediatric exams, as well as performing presentations at local schools and other community events to further the awareness of sexual assault.

Activity 3

Transitional housing: the transitional housing program at aware, inc. Assists domestic violence survivors in bridging the gap between leaving their domestic violence situation and creating an independent, violence-free life for themselves (and children if applicable). The program helps clients accomplish self-identified goals during their time in the program. The organization also assists with rent and specific assistance according to the nature of the client's needs, for up to two years. The goal of the program is to ensure the successful transition stated above, and for client's to be self-sufficient at the end of the program. Clients will undergo extensive case management to work on their self-identified goals, which include but are not limited to seeking employment or enrolling in school full-time. The program offers one or more monthly workshops that also cover beneficial life skill areas.
