Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part IV, Line 28A-C

The program shares certain administrative expenses with the national elevator industry pension and health benefit plans. The program and these plans share one or more common trustees. The national elevator industry benefit plans provide certain administrative services to the program, for which the program reimburses these plans. The program made payments in the amount of $47,000 for administrative fees for the fiscal year ended june 30, 2024.

Form 990, Part X - Balance Sheet

Included in part x, balance sheet, line 27 - net assets without donor restrictions, are board designated endowment funds without donor restrictions totaling $126,936,017 and $125,238,734 for the years ended june 30, 2024 and june 30, 2023, respectively.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The program qualified as a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code ("irc") and therefore is not subject to income tax. The program is not a private foundation under section 509(a)(2). Certain unrelated business income, as defined in the irc, is subject to federal income tax. For the year ended june 30, 2024, there was no liability for income tax on unrelated business income. Neiep, llc is a single member llc, wholly owned by national elevator industry educational program. The income and expenses are included in the program's form 990. The trustees believe that the program and the trust continue to be qualified and tax exempt as a multiemployer collectively bargained health and welfare benefit plan that provides apprenticeship training benefits and is exempt from filing form 5500 with the u.s. Department of labor employee benefit security administration. No change is the program's tax status is anticipated. No provision for income taxes has been included in the program's consolidated financial statements. The program has adopted the guidance for "accounting for uncertainty in income taxes", a topic of the fasb asc, which prescribes a comprehensive model for recognizing, measuring, presenting & disclosing in the consolidated financial statements tax positions taken or expected to be taken on a tax return. This model includes recognizing interest and penalties on unrecognized tax benefits. The program is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. As of june 30, 2024, the program's tax returns generally remain open for examination for three years from the date filed with each taxing jurisdiction. As of june 30, 2024, management believes no such provision for uncertain tax positions are necessary.

PART XI, LINE 4B - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:

Net realized gain and interest and dividend income on investments recorded as other income on financial statements. 5,882,565.

PART VI, LINE 1E:

Other assets listed in part vi - land, buildings and equipment: furniture, fixtures, software, and courseware.
