Bible studies are led by a teacher(s) throughout the week on designated days. To be widely recognized as an effective and respectable prison and post-prison ministry in the community by providing a holistic approach in the rehabilitation and the restoration of inmates and ex-offenders to societyLife Abundant, Inc. was established in 1978 in order to help facilitate a positive change in the life view of inmates and ex-offenders and to raise their hopes of escaping the vicious cycle of crime and recidivism. Since its inception, Life Abundant staff and volunteers have assisted countless inmates, ex-offenders and their families develop sound principles in their social, economic and spiritual lives.We primarily seek to break the cycle of repeated imprisonment by introducing inmates, ex-offenders and their families to Jesus Christ. Through God's love and grace, inmates are able to overcome addictions and the debilitating issues that were the root causes of repeated incarceration. As inmates, ex-offenders and their families develop Christian principles in their lives, they can become productive members of society. Life Abundant, Inc. is one of the most recognized prison ministries in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and has been a positive force at the Bucks County Correctional Facility and the Bucks County Community Corrections Center since they opened in 1985 and 1991, respectively. Life Abundant, Inc. offers a diversity of services for those incarcerated and recently released. Several supportive services are also available to families and others negatively impacted by incarceration. In-prison MinistryStaff members and volunteers facilitate both Bible studies and Chapel Services at the Bucks County Correctional Facility and at the Bucks County Community Corrections (aka work release). Bible studies are led by a teacher(s) throughout the week on designated days. Staff members and volunteers may also mentor men and women inmates at either of the facilities and once an inmate is released. Post-prison MinistryLife Abundant assists released men and women in the following areas:Housing Employment Transportation Mentoring ReferralsChurch assimilation Continuing discipleshipDirect Aid FundFor many years, the ministry of Life Abundant has utilized a Direct Aid Fund to help individual inmates, ex-offenders, and their families with financial needs. Because of incarceration, most inmates and ex-offenders have lost their apartments or homes and must "start over" after being released from jail. Many variables are considered for those who apply and resources are distributed only after each request has been thoroughly vetted. Education and Training ServicesStaff members and affiliates are available to speak to congregations, community organizations and businesses regarding the correctional system, faith-based approaches and evidence-based strategies. |
