Activity 2

Senior employment program is a subsidized training program in which income-eligible persons, 55 and older, who desire to learn and work, are counseled and offered an opportunity for placement at a training site. The participants train for twenty hours per week at the site and are expected to be engaged in an active job search during the remainder of the day. Assessment and assistance with further training are provided to enhance the participant's skill level. We had approximately 194 participants in our senior program.

Activity 3

Women, infants, and children (wic) - provides supplemental foods and nutrition education for pregnant women, breast-feeding women, mothers who have given birth within the last six months, and children less than five years of age. The purpose of the program is to prevent and reduce health and dietary problems during pregnancy and early growth stages of a child's development. To qualify as a participant, clients must meet wic income standards, be at medical or nutritional risk as certified by a health professional, and live, (or receive healthcare), in york county. Cpc served an average of 6,839 participants each month.
