Mission

The mission of the chester county art association is to be a source of inspiration, creativity and community by connecting artists, students, partrons and the wider community to and through art. In the 87 years since its founding, ccaa has continued to fulfill its goal "of making chester county more actively and courageously art conscious" (from ccaa's original charter).

To promote the knowledge and enjoyment of the fine and applied arts

Financial Statement Notes

PART III, LINE 4:

The association maintains several pieces of art on exhibit at its faciliy to promote participation in the arts.

PART X, LINE 2:

The association is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, except for certain activities not directly related to the association's tax-exempt purpose. In addition, the association qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under section 170(b)(1)(a) and has been classified as an organization that is not a private foundation under section 509(a)(2). The association believes it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The association's federal return of organization exempt from income tax returns (form 990) for tax years 2011, 2012 and 2013 are subject to examination by the irs, generally for three years after the returns were filed.
