“The organization enlists an outside public accounting firm to assist in assembling and reviewing the Form 990. An internal review by the finance administration is performed once the accounting firm completes its work. The audit committee next reviews the return, and all comments are addressed to and answered by both the public accounting firm and internal perparers. Once all external and internal review is complete, a copy of the Form 990 is supplied to all members of the board of trustees prior to the return's filing.”
