The vsf provides in-depth technical presentations on kyy audio and video issues at vsf meeting series meetings(may meeting hosted by cisco systems at san jose, californai and october meeting hosted by vsf at the microsoft technology center, new york, ny) and at vidtrans2018 conference and exposition in los angeles, california. All past meetings presentatins are available on the vsf site for members to access. The joint task-force networked media (jt-nm) which the vsf is a participating member hosted ip showcases at nab 2018 as well as the ibc 2018 related to smpte st 2110 suite of professional media over ip network standards. The vsf interop acitivity group held varios events (dirty hands and prequalifying workshops at fox, the woodlands, texas, usa, related to nab2018 and a prequalifying workshop for ibc2018 at riedel communications, wuppertal, germany) leading up to public demonstrations of multi-vendor interoperability sessions for st2022/st2059/aes-67/smpte st 2110 suite of professional media over ip network standards. The vsf svip activity group (studio video over ip without sdi encapsulation) was asked to define 2110 profiles and levels for increased vendor-to-vendor interoperability via a request received from the aims technical working group. Technical recommendation (tr-05) entitled "essential forms and descriptions for interoperability of smpte st 2110-20 video signals" was released on june 23, 2018, to support the goal of enhanced system interoperability for st2110-based networks. Http://vsf.tv/download/technical_recommendations/vsf_tr-05_2018-06-23.pdf the svip group is currently working to develop a system for collecting widely used video format discriptions in open, central repostitory. Http://vsf.tv/svip.shtml the vsf rist activity group (reliable internet stream transport) was formed in the spring of 2017. To date, the group has producted an initial version of a specification that has been released as tr-06-1.
