“The form 990 is prepared by an independent accounting firm and then the draft of the audit report and the form 990 are distributed to and discussed by the finance committee and the board. The auditor/tax filer is invited to present the audit and the form 990 at a board meeting. All board members receive a complete draft of the form 990 prior to filing with the internal revenue service.”

“All board and key staff are subject to the conflict of interest policy. Board prospects are asked to submit information about themselves including any potential conflicts to the board. Potential key staff are reviewed for potential conflicts by the board. Persons with a potential, perceived or real, conflict are asked to leave the room while related issues are discussed. As most issues with a potential for conflict take place at the board level, that is where conflicts are identified and reviewed. The conflict of policy is monitored by annual disclosure of actual and potential conflicts and by a standing board meeting agenda item to ask for any new conflicts.”

Bcb's community-based programs include but are not limited to educational programs held in schools, libraries, parks, and other public spaces. Bcb partners with like-minded organizations to provide educational bcb maintains a significant collection of photographs, artifacts, and programs around the mid-atlantic region including historical societies, museums, civic clubs, and other nonprofits. Bcb's most unique and most popular educational programing is aboard the aj meerwald, on which passengers learn about the history of the region and the human impact on it. Through these educational programs, bcb educates over 2,000 children and nearly 4,000 adults each year on the human impact on the environment using history as a guide.”
