Mission

Aids connecticut, inc.'s mission is to improve the lives of people impacted by hiv through care and supportive services, housing, advocacy and prevention throughout the state of connecticut. Its vision is to be a recognized leader in the prevention and care of people impacted by hiv, creating new approaches to service, working in collaboration with all stakeholders, and advocating for a dignified, respectful system of service delivery.

To provide direct care, prevention education, harm reduction and psychosocial support services to people affected by hiv/aids.

Prior to filing, the form 990 is reviewed first by the audit committee, who then gives their recommendation to the board of directors.

The organization regularly and consistently monitors and enforces compliance with the conflict of interest policy by having all staff, volunteers and board members upon hiring appointment or election make a full, written disclosure of any interest, relationships, and holdings that could potentially result in a conflict of interest. The organization requires this disclosure to be updated annually or earlier if appropriate. The organization also requires in the course of meetings and activities any participants will disclose any interest in a transaction or decision. After disclosure such interested party will not be able to participate in discussion or vote on the policy or transaction.

The board of directors determines compensation for the organizations ceo, executive director and top management based on performance. The board also consider the range of salary increases given to employees as well as salaries of ceo's of other, similarly-sized nonprofits. CLIENTS REPORTED 41 SUCCESSFUL OVERDOSE REVERSALS. THE COMMUNITY DISTRIBUTION CENTER PROCESSED 1168 ORDERS FOR 399 AGENCIES IN 2016, AND DISTRIBUTED OVER 1.6 MILLION CONDOMS AND 100,000 PRINTED MATERIALS TO INDIVIDUALS, SCHOOLS, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS.
