The Board of Directors must ratify all contracts, grants, committee members, changes to policies, etc. They provide general guidance. Members are appointed to represent the towns who pay dues.

Officers sign a conflict of interest policy annually to ensure compliance with the policy.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15AB

It is the policy of NMDC that if a raise exceeds 3 it must be approved by the Board. Only merit raises are given. The Board approves the salary budget. Supervisors suggest the percentage of the raise, but it is approved by the Executive Director and Finance Director, and the Board if it exceeds 3. The Executive Director reviews the Finance Director and the Board reviews the Executive Director.
