IRS990/Desc0The Count Basie Center for the Arts is New Jersey's top ticket-selling theater venue, in a tally released by Pollstar, the official publication of the live events and concert touring industry. The Count Basie Center has achieved this #1 ranking for four consecutive years. With more than 220,000 tickets sold a year, the Count Basie Center is the 30th best-selling venue of its size worldwide. In the fiscal year ended June 30, 2019, the Count Basie Center presented 133 performances, 55 rock/pop shows, 17 comedy acts, 28 family presentations and 11 Broadway shows, plus a number of classical/vocal, country, dance, spoken word/ lecture and world music performances and 16 feature films. Outside promoters presented 62 events. Additionally, the Count Basie Center conducted 196 education classes, with 1,163 students enrolled on site. This figure includes 119 camps/classes and 77 private lessons. The "Curtains Up for Kids" program hosted 11 school shows and impacted 12,910 students. Education outreach in local public schools reached 3,347 students. This includes 758 students who participated in in-school performing arts classes and 2,589 students impacted by the mindALIGNED initiative of creative learning. Based on registration reports, Monmouth Conservatory of Music conducted 5,552 lessons/classes in classical music and served 343 students music and served 343 students.
